The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.
Applications are actually open and may close on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should fulfill the subsequent requirements:
• Be a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a house that has a combined gross household income that does not exceed R350 000 per annum.
• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined house profits doesn't exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and want not post any evidence here of earnings.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.
Applicants are reminded to deliver the proper Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected nsfas check of their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are finding out or intend to research at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
